Dhaka: Today World Malaria Day. Like other countries in the world, the day is observed in Bangladesh. The theme of the day is "We are ready to eradicate malaria". A program has been organized at the CIRDAP Auditorium in the capital on the occasion of World Malaria Day. Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim will inaugurate the day. On the occasion, a seminar was organized at the National Press Club on Tuesday with the help of the Health Department's Disease Control and BRAC. Apart from this, special programs will be organized at all district and upazila levels today (Wednesday).

In this regard, Director General of Health Department Prof. Abul Kalam Azad said, the targets we have taken will achieve the target in a particular time. Among them, Hill Rangamati, Bandarban and Khagrachari Malaria Prakan and Cox's Bazar are identified as central malaria-trapped areas. About 1.25 million people in these areas are at risk of malaria.

According to the Health Department's malaria eradication program, 93 percent of the total malaria in the country is in three hill districts.
