Every day 175,000 children are using online for the first time in Bangladesh

Dhaka: A UNICEF report has found that 1,75,000 children are using online for the first time in Bangladesh every day. By doing this, children are creating a potential future. Risks are rising as well.

UNICEF said Tuesday that 100,000 children in Bangladesh are entering the Internet for the first time every day. Every child is entering half an hour. On the one hand, the advantage of access to this digital world is to create children's potential future. Risks are rising as well. There is a risk of harmful content, sexual harassment and abuse, cyber quarrels, and the abuse of personal information.

Lawrence Chandy, director of UNICEF's Data, Research and Policy Division, said that every day thousands of children are going online for the first time. That could be the cause of their danger. It is important to identify our points. Apart from the benefits, children should be informed about direct loss online.

To this end, an urgent call has been made to protect children and their digital footprint on Safe Internet Day.
