Dhaka: At least two people were killed in suicide bomb attacks in two Shia mosques in Afghanistan. Two attacks were held in Kabul and Ghor province on Friday.

Police said that the first attack was in the capital Kabul. 39 people were killed in an attack in Imam Zaman Mosque during the Maghrib prayer. Some time later 33 people were killed in an attack in Ghor province. The attacks targeted local political leaders.

No one has yet acknowledged the responsibility of the attack. Recently, the number of attacks on the minority Shia community in the country increased alarmingly.

Most of the attacks have been launched by the IS. As the United Nations, at least 84 people have been killed in attacks on Shia mosque and religious festival this year.
